Great Bay Express is currently operating up to 3 trips a day, from Philipsburg St Maarten, starting at 7:15AM (except Sundays). For more information, please check the timetable below.

Their office is located at Bobby’s Marina in Philipsburg (just behind the security booth) where you can check-in with your e-ticket and a valid passport. Adjacent to the marina is where most of the cruise ships dock, which means it's very easy to hop-over on one of the ferries from Great Bay Express to St. Barths. From Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) it takes around 20-30 minutes to get to Bobby’s Marina by taxi, and from Grand Case Airport around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Great Bay Express is the only service going to St. Barths from Philipsburg on St. Maarten.

Pride of St. Barths

Within just 45 minutes you will be taken to Gustavia on St. Barths on one of their high-speed ferries - Pride of St Barth, Big B or Shantiwa - with widescreen televisions, comfortable seating, A/C, bathrooms and large windows to enjoy the views. After a smooth ferry ride, you will arrive in Gustavia, St Barths, the central hub for activities on St. Barths. Here you can go shopping, experience the delicious cuisine at one of the waterfront cafés or gush at the mega yachts in the harbour.

The island is easy to get around in a day, and there are usually taxis and car rental agencies readily available for you at the harbour. With beautiful white sandy beaches with shallow reefs, St. Barths is the perfect island to go snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing or since it's a volcanic island, you could go hiking for some stunning panorama views.

The last ferry leaves Gustavia daily at 6:45 PM, arriving back in Philipsburg around 7:30 PM. Their modern high-speed Catamaran will ensure a quick and easy trip back to St Maarten, although in some seasons the ride could get a little more bouncy due to the sea conditions.

Check-in procedure
Passengers travelling to St Barths should arrive at the dock to check-in 1 hour prior to departure. Just present your StMartinbookings e-ticket to the Great Bay Express staff at their office located at Bobby's Marina, Philipsburg and they will provide you with your Boarding Pass and assist you with any luggage. Check-in strictly closes 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time!

Luggage allowance
Passengers may take one carry-on (free of charge) and two checked bags (free of charge), however you must be able to carry the weight of your own luggage. Should you have additional luggage, please contact us before making a reservation, as excess baggage fees may apply. Great Bay Express does not operate as a cargo vessel and reserves the right to refuse transporting any excess luggage.
